General questions

What does an equine farm management company do?

We run some or all of an equestrian property on the owner’s behalf. That can include the daily yard routine, horse care standards, land and grazing, buildings and fencing, staff and contractors, budgets and paperwork. You decide how much you hand over, from a one-off review to full management.

Who do you work with?

We work with private estate owners, livery yard owners, studs and breeders, riding and equestrian centres and sport horse yards. We also help farmers and landowners who keep horses or rent land to horse owners.

Which areas do you cover?

We are based in Newcastle upon Tyne and cover Northumberland, Tyne and Wear, County Durham, Teesside and North Yorkshire, Cumbria and the Scottish Borders. We can travel further for larger projects. See areas we cover for details.

Do you replace our vet, farrier or other professionals?

No. We work alongside your own vet, farrier, nutritionist and other professionals. We book visits and keep records, but all veterinary decisions stay with your vet.

Services and what’s covered

Can you take over an existing yard with staff in place?

Yes. We often work with existing teams. We introduce clear routines and support the staff rather than replacing them, and we agree everyone’s responsibilities with you before we start.

Can you manage the land without managing the horses?

Yes. Our pasture, paddock, fencing and maintenance services can be used on their own by any landowner or yard.

Can you help us set up a new livery yard or equestrian business?

Yes. Our equine business consultancy covers feasibility, business planning, facility layout, pricing and getting ready to open.

Do you help with planning permission?

We help you understand what is likely to be needed and prepare the operational details. Formal applications are handled by qualified planning consultants and architects, and we can work alongside them.

Can you help with licensing and compliance?

Yes. We help with passport and microchip records, risk assessments, biosecurity plans and preparing for licensing inspections where they apply.

Pricing and getting started

How much do your services cost?

It depends on the size of the property, the number of horses and how much help you need. We send you a written quote after a first conversation and a site visit, and there is no obligation to go ahead.

How do you report to owners?

Managed packages include a monthly report covering horse welfare, land, repairs, spending, staff and paperwork. We also meet you every few months to review progress.

How quickly can you start?

It depends on the scope and our current workload. Advisory reviews can often start within a few weeks. Ongoing management starts once the proposal is agreed and the handover is planned.

What happens after I send an enquiry?

We aim to reply within one working day to arrange a first conversation. If it makes sense, we then visit your property and send you a written proposal.
