Our story

Why we started Equine Farm Management

Equestrian properties are complicated. They combine animal welfare, land, buildings, staff and money, and they are often run by owners who already have plenty on their plate. On too many yards, standards depend on one person remembering everything.

We set up Equine Farm Management to change that. We bring written routines, proper planning and honest reporting to every property we work with. The aim is simple: well cared-for horses, land that improves each year and owners who know exactly what is going on.

From our base in Newcastle upon Tyne, we work with private estates, livery yards, studs, riding centres and landowners across the North East and beyond.

Our mission

To help every equestrian property we work with become safer, healthier, better organised and more sustainable for horses, people and land.

Our values

What do we care about?

Horse welfare

The health and wellbeing of the horses guides every decision we make.

Accountability

We take responsibility, keep our promises and report honestly, including when something goes wrong.

Looking after the land

We manage land and facilities with the next ten years in mind, as well as the next season.

Clear communication

We use plain English, write clear plans, agree budgets in advance and avoid surprises.

Our approach

How is our approach different?

We look at the whole property

Horses, land, buildings, people and money all affect each other, so we plan for them together.

Our systems stay with you

The routines, records and plans we set up belong to your property and keep working long after we have put them in place.

We work with your team

We support the people already on your yard and work alongside your vet, farrier and other advisers.
